New RED vs BLUE series

Most folk would know about the Red vs.Blue animation series, developed using the Halo video game, with voice-overs to create a storyline.

This style of animation is known as machinima :

computer-generated imagery (CGI) is rendered using real-time, interactive 3-D engines, such as those of games, instead of professional 3D animation software.

Graphics engines from first-person shooter and role-playing simulation video games are typically used.

Consequently, the rendering can be done in real-time using PCs (either using the computer of the creator or the viewer).

Red vs Blue is probably the most famous of these – the production company Rooster Teeth has also produced a number of other series :

The Red Vs. Blue : The Blood Gulch Chronicles have completed FIVE seasons already – which you can buy on DVD from the online store.

Rooster Teeth have just announced a new series – like there was Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek:The Next Generation – there is now Red vs.Blue: Reconstructed.

First episode is a bit slow, but hopefully the humour should start to flow !

Stay tuned…
