Windows DreamScene

For those running Windows Vista with “ultimate extras”, you may be aware of Windows DreamScene, which allows for a video clip or moving image/s to be used as the background wallpaper – doesn’t do anything really – but looks cool !!

Your desktop background comes to life with Windows DreamScene™.

When you download this Ultimate Extra, you can select a video for your desktop background the same way you select a stationary picture.

You can choose one of the high-quality looping videos that we’ve included, or use a video from a company that produces content for DreamScene. You can even use your own video as a background.

Just found a new website with a collection of various video clips & wallpaper available for download :

Want to find or share videos and images to use with Windows Dreamscene?

BackgroundMotion allows you to discover great new backgrounds and share photos and videos that you have already found on the Internet with the rest of the community

Will have to try these out tonight when I get home (still using Windows XP for work laptop).

  1. I’m devistated by how bad Vista is. My media centre, which was happily running Media Centre 2005 for 18 months, with barely a hiccup is crashing several times a day under Vista. No DivX support, crappy drivers for video cards, sound dissapearing mystereously, entire music collection dissapearing from the Vista library, then re-appearing in the library.

I had dream scene installed on my brand new laptop for a while, but it to would mysteriously fall over. I guess Microsoft Calculator can have that effect. Now, my new laptop is running really well now that I have uninstalled Vista and replaced it with XP. No wonder so many work colleagues are buying Macbook Pro’s and running Parallels or Boot Camp. I wish I’d done the same.

C’mon Microsoft!!! Get some spark back into your organisation.
