Problem installing Adobe Reader 8 (Windows Vista)

If you have an error stating “The Temp folder is on a drive that is full…” when attempting to install Adobe Acrobat Reader, the problem is related to the UAC (User Account Control) – if you have turned it off.

Just need to turn UAC to ON, and re-boot your PC.  Then, Adobe Acrobat will be able to continue with installation.

P.S. You should always leave UAC turned ON (!)

Good to see that Adobe is actually requiring the UAC to be ON, otherwise it can’t install – and adhering to the strict security policies in place within Vista.

I wonder how many other software companies will follow suit.  They just need to have a better error message – not misleading !
