Finally made it to MCAD

Following an intense month of studying, I had my Microsoft exam yesterday afternoon – I passed ! – with a score of 952 (only needed 700 to pass).

From my calculations, I only got 2 wrong – so, all that study and sample tests were worth it.

The exam was Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework (70-320), and covered Remoting, Windows Services as well as Web Services & so on.

Was the third exam in order to achieve Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD).

The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) credential provides industry recognition for professional developers who build powerful applications using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Web services on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.

A bit embarrassing that it’s taken me so long to get – as the other exams were completed in March 2003 – and then April 2003.

All good things take time I guess – and I can blame a number of factors – including a previous employer who stated that certifications weren’t worth the paper they were written on (!)

Anyway – happy wookie today – I’m an MCAD !

NEXT – have to get into the .NET 2.0 exams – hopefully THIS year – not 3.5 years !
