Umm – help !?

Have fired up a Virtual PC image, and trying to  log-in – not good when the “Administrator” account is locked-out !
I think it’s a throw-away VM (delete the VHD), re-install needed.

Creative Code: 14 Ways to Learn From Creative Programmers | LifeDev

Saw a link from Chris Geier (K2), about how we should look to computer programmers for inspiration – with regard to “creativity” :
The common stereotype for programmers is this: nerdy, pocket-protector wielding, and very, very boring.
One doesn’t typically link a programmer as a creative individual.
However, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Working [...]

Link Junk

A few quick web sites that I found while poking about on the interwebs, and had some shortcuts to from some when or other.
Worth a view, if you have some time to kill, or at lunch, waiting for a plane, dodging clients, dodging wife, etc.
Nikon Universcale
Nice animations (from Nikon), and displays a comparison of [...]

Silverlight example controls

At a recent Silverlight training course, I discovered & had a play with the wealth of “controls” within the new Silverlight 2 environment.   Silverlight-1 was much more limited, mainly related to “multimedia” – but now, can really create “applications” – as opposed to just animations, and video.
One of my thoughts was that it would be [...]

Waitin’ and Holdin’

Or – more exactly – waitin’ for the HOLDEN.   Sitting in the customer service lounge for the service of our Holden Commodore – been on leave for a few days, and thought I’d wait for the car service, and bash through some emails, and blog posts/drafts.
Would have been good to jump online and use some [...]

Pretty Fly (for a young guy)

On Saturday afternoon, Cameron & I took a ride out to Tullamarine airport to collect his Nanna & Granddad (my parents).
We had some time to kill, as their flight was delayed – was great fun to watch the planes landing & taking off.
Cameron wanted to “go outside” – but convinced him it was too [...]

Business NINtelligence via Google Earth

As regular readers would be aware, I’m a big fan of Nine Inch Nails, and Trent Reznor’s approach to using the new technologies out there – including FaceBook, MySpace, BitTorrent, and many more.
With the forthcoming US tour, you can now view the dates on a map, and add to your calendar :

On the nin.com tour [...]

Download Day – 8 million

Have previously blogged about “Download Day”, when the new Firefox 3 browser was to become available – and no, I’m not a Microsoft-hater (far from it) – just thought it was a cool idea, to set a new download record.
Received an email this morning :
We set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloads [...]
